About Us

At Viva con Agua South Africa, we are more than just a nonprofit organization—we are a vibrant community and global network united by a common purpose: ensuring access to clean drinking water and sanitation for everyone, everywhere. Established in 2020, our mission is rooted in the belief that water is a fundamental human right and a source of life, joy, and dignity.

Transforming Lives

Our vision is simple yet profound: Water for All and All for Water. This philosophy drives every aspect of our work, inspiring us to take action and bring about meaningful change. Guided by four core principles, we strive to:

01. Activate

Using the universal languages of music, art, and sports, we motivate people and organizations to take action and join a movement that celebrates water as a source of life and creativity.

02. Inspire

Through joyful and innovative approaches, we spark passion in others, encouraging them to engage with our cause in their own unique and creative ways.

03. Connect

We build partnerships that bring together local supporters, global allies, and community organizations, amplifying our collective impact.

04. Transform

By implementing WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) projects across South Africa, we work to create sustainable societal changes that prioritize clean water access for all.

What We Do

Our work spans a diverse range of impactful projects that address water and sanitation challenges in innovative ways. From mobile wash facilities for the homeless in Cape Town to WASH programs in rural schools and advocacy through creative mediums like art and music, we are making a tangible difference in communities across South Africa. Projects like Nina Manzi, our flagship initiative, restore dignity to Cape Town’s homeless population by providing access to showers, toilets, and clean water. Programs like WASH in Schools empower children with hygiene education, fostering healthier futures for generations to come. Collaborative efforts like Amanzi Kumntu Wonke mobilize communities to monitor and maintain water infrastructure, ensuring sustainable solutions for thousands.

Why We Do It

The need for clean water and sanitation is urgent. Millions in South Africa and beyond still lack access to these basic human rights, leading to health crises, loss of dignity, and hindered opportunities. We are driven by the belief that every person, regardless of their circumstances, deserves access to this most essential resource.
