Viva Birthday Thursday

First of all, a big congratulations and Happy Birthday to Villa Viva Cape Town. The 1st of October marks the first year that Villa Viva opened its door to its guests. In October 2021 both international and local guests had their first feel of Villa Viva Cape Town.

What makes this Guest House special is its connection and intertwining linkage with Viva con Agua South Africa. Villa Viva CPT, just like Viva con Agua SA, makes use of the Universal languages (Art Music, and Sport) to bring about awareness for the bigger concept of Water for All – All for Water. Viva con Agua SA offices are also located in Villa Viva CPT making it easier for people to find out more about the projects in South Africa in a vibrant social setting.

For a taste of how we celebrated our Viva Birthday Thursday and the connection between Villa Viva CPT and Viva con Agua have a look at this short video.

Viva Thursday is not just a day for people from all walks of life to come together, but an opportunity to grow the Viva Cosmos, with local musicians from in and around Cape Town utilising the space for what it is intended for as a platform. Many of the artists that grace our terrace are either up-and-comers or golden oldies who just want to start making and creating music with a message and for a cause bigger than themselves.

These individuals bring their fans and loved ones to the space of Villa Viva, where you can engage and speak to staff, volunteers and coordinators on current projects and find out how you can get involved.

Have you had our cupcakes?

You must be a part of the action.

If you have been to our recent events or award ceremonies, you would have seen a table with cupcakes. In school, there was a saying that went, “Think before you ink”. At Viva we say read before you eat (a cupcake)!

There is something truly special about our cupcakes, but I won’t spill the beans as you need to discover it for yourself the next time you join us.

What I will say is that 1 in 3 people globally don’t have access to safe and clean drinking water. We should all be aware and play our part in making a change.

If you have tried our cupcakes please share our experience in the comments section.

Our Viva birthday was nothing short of good energy, great connections, diverse cultures and unique performances. From super cool beanies and T’s with water slogans on display,to short clips and birthday songs, it was nothing short of how Viva con Agua creates a family and grows its network with music, love and laughter.

Soundz of the South helped us go acoustic during load-shedding.
Thato and Saya Pierce Jones (comedians), are here to make sure you turn that frown upside-down.
